EPA Rates Nissan Leaf at 73 MPG


Fuel economy ratings for the all new Nissan Leaf EV sedan were recently released by the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA labeled the Leaf  "best in its class" in terms of fuel economy. According to the EPA's formula, 33.7 kilowatt hours equals one gallon of gasoline. Using this equation, the car gets the equivalent of 99 miles per gallon, although it is not actually using any gasoline.
