Nissan EV Quick Charger Launching This November

One of the inconveniences associated with electric vehicles is charge time. For example, it takes about seven hours to charge the Nissan LEAF from a depleted battery using a 220/240 V charging station. Using a 110-120V charging station, that number grows to approximately 20 hours. Both require planning to ensure the LEAF doesn't run out of charge at an inopportune time. Not to mention, it puts your vehicle out of commission for anywhere from almost a third of a day to nearly an entire day.

A more appealing option Nissan offers is a 480V quick charging station that delivers an 80-percent charge in just 30 minutes or so. In understanding that this time frame is more compatible with the hectic lives of most consumers today, Nissan set out to develop a new higher power quick charging station that is inexpensive and easy to use.

Already, Nissan is planning to bring their new 500V quick charger to market in Japan, this November. And, while exact dates have not yet been set, the Japanese automaker is expected to bring it to the U.S. and Europe, in the imminent future.

Cole Nissan has no doubt that the new Nissan EV quick charger will will be a fast seller. Designed with safety in -mind, the easy-to-install, weather-resistant unit is not only fast and convenient. It's engineered with a suite of safety features, including monitoring against potential short circuits.

There will also be three different Nissan EV quick charger specifications available: Base, Standard and Cold Weather. While all are universal (compatible with EVs other than the LEAF), each is designed to suit the individual needs of drivers in different climates.

Stay tuned to learn more about the Nissan EV quick charger. Cole Nissan located at 3003 Stadium Drive in Kalamazoo, MI promises more details on availability in North America, as they become available.
