Nissan e-NV200 is Part LEAF, Part Van and All Electric

Looking akin to a character out of the animated movie Cars, the Nissan e-NV200 Concept wears an Aqua Blue paint job and the face of the Nissan LEAF. But just because it seems as though the model will pop out a set of eyes and start talking any minute, doesn't mean the technology housed in it isn't 100-percent real.

Built with all the same utility-centered space as the Nissan NV200 van, the e-NV200 concept adds an additional benefit to commercial towing: low environmental impact. Using a 24-kWh lithium-ion battery, the eco-friendly van provides an impressive drive range between 47 and 105 miles on a charge. Thanks to its LEAF-borrowed 80-kWh electric motor, the Nissan concept's powertrain is rated at 207-lb./ft. of torque.

While the Nissan e-NV200 concept is certainly targeted at green-thumbed businesses, the automaker has a feeling private parties, including families, just might take interest as well. With 145-cubic-feet of cargo space, the model offers the same kind of load as most minivans but housed within a funkier design. In addition to optimum space, potential e-NV200 drivers will be able to take advantage of technology features such as a large, dashboard-mounted screen that controls vehicle function like a computer.

In this stage of the game, Nissan hasn't released official production model details. However, Cole Nissan does know the automaker is serious about bringing the green touch to commercial transportation. Already, Nissan has developed e-NV200 prototypes to be tested in real world businesses such as FedEx. For more information on the revamped, all-electric van, contact us online. Of course, you can always stop by 3003 Stadium Drive Kalamazoo, MI 49008 in person as well.
