Are you considering getting a new electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle to drive in Portage? If that is the case, you will want to look into your home charging options. Being able to charge your vehicle at home is one of the advantages of owning an EV. At Cole Nissan, we want you know all you need about your home EV charging options.

Level One Charging

Any EV you buy or lease at Cole Nissan will come standard with a Level One charger. With this charger, you don't need any equipment to charge your vehicle besides a regular three-pin, 120-volt power outlet. While Level One chargers are convenient, they take overnight to fully charge a plug-in hybrid, and they aren't recommended for recharging fully electric vehicles.

Level Two Charging

When you drive home in a new Nissan EV, you can also buy an available Pulsar Plus™ Level Two charging system. This charging unit plugs into a 240-volt outlet and needs to be installed by a professional electrician. A Level Two charger can charge your vehicle up to eight times faster than a Level One charger. It can quicky recharge a plug-in hybrid battery, and can usually recharge the battery of a fully electric vehicle overnight.

Level Three Charging

You can find Level Three DC fast chargers at public charging stations. Some apartment complexes have Level Three chargers available. Level Three chargers can usually charge 10 to 20 miles of range every 10 minutes.
